Testimonials

"Ryan was a novice's blessing! I had never really had professional photos taken, and without even knowing it, I really needed his positive encouragement. Our shoot was offsite and demanded he work outside of normal hours, but that was no issue for him at all. He took excellent photos, was able to consult with me numerous times, AND had the finished product to me inside of a week. Excellent." - Miranda Miller

Choosing Ryan to help me reinvent my business image was the best decision. The shoot was amazing, we discussed what I was trying to achieve and Ryan did his best to deliver that for me and I was not disappointed. Within a week I had double my bookings and inquiries, and almost immediately got the money back that I had invested. My clients constantly comment on how great my images are but also how realistic they are which super important in my work. Ryan did the perfect job of capturing the true essence of me and I would highly recommend him. - Gypsy Rose

I sat for some portraits, and for someone who is quite nervous in front of a camera, I felt very safe and comfortable thanks to Ryan's relaxed vibe and personability. I'm blown away by the portraits, and I've received an incredible amount of great feedback from friends who also love them. Thanks again Ryan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a session involve?
I photograph my subjects with an intention of empathy, vulnerability, and connection, so that we may meet as equals. My sessions are like self-love workshops, as everyone walks away feeling good about themselves (even before seeing the photos!). I create photographs by connecting with people on a personal level so that they feel comfortable and natural in front of a camera. For many people who have never been photographed before this can seem daunting. I have done this hundreds of times and I will guide you through the process every step of the way. If you put your trust in me I promise to put you at ease.

What do you shoot?
Absolutely anything! I often create for individuals, artists, sex workers, businesses, editorial projects, and my own artistic pursuits. I have shot everything from portfolios for sex workers, to head shots for the Flux political party. No request is too small or large. I am happy to photograph whatever you desire.

Where can we shoot?
You're welcome to come to my home studio and shoot against a backdrop. I can come to your home, or a space that you access to, or we can head outside into the world. There is also the option of renting a professional photography studio for large scale concepts.

What do I wear?
Whatever you feel most comfortable and yourself in! It depends on the application of the photos. It would be my pleasure to assist you if you require it. I have a good eye for colour and dress sense.

Can I bring a friend?
Of course! However, I have found that people are able to relax the easiest when there are fewer people present. My demeanour and style of communication allow me to create an authentic connection between myself and the subject so that they feel at ease. I have found that by having friends sit in on the session, it makes the subject more self-conscious as there are two people viewing them. You are welcome to bring a friend if you desire, but I advise against it if you want the most natural looking portrait. It matters more for some than others.

Do I have to pay up front?
There is a $200 retainer fee to book a session. This is required along with a signed digital contract to lock in the session date. The remainder of the fee is due on the day of the shoot, however payment plans are available. Just ask!

How long do I have to wait for the images after the session?
The proofing gallery to make your selections will be supplied to you within 7 days of the session. I value fast delivery and I'm sure you do too! The remainder of the total fee must be paid prior to receiving the proofing gallery. Once you have picked your images to be edited and supplied, I will provide you with the final images within 7 days of your selection.

Do you do retouching?
I like to represent people in the most authentic way possible. For me, photography is about authenticity, and honesty, which I hope is conveyed through my work. However, I have the skills and capability to do any retouching necessary, and for some people and purposes, it is a must. I am able to fulfil any and all of your requirements.

Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, we are able to provide you with beautifully presented gift vouchers which can be sent digitally via email or posted in the mail.

What if I need to change the appointment time?
You are welcome to reschedule the session appointment, up to 48 hours prior to the session. A phone call to let us know and a written confirmation via email is necessary.

What happens if it's raining?
If the weather does not permit us to make the photographs required on the day, we will reschedule in good faith to the nearest available date that suits us both.
