Behind The Curtain / by Ryan Henwood-White

I had the absolute pleasure of going with Nick and Alana from my local camera shop, Smile Please, to the development lab where they process their film. As someone who never did darkroom photography in high school, the processes were new and awe inspiring. Particularly seeing positive slide film come out of the tank, with the crisp, bright colours in their cute little 35mm frames.

Due to my presence I had all nine rolls in the shop developed and scanned in the one night, some of the photos I had taken that very day! This was a revelation after usually waiting 3-5 days. After seeing all of the 120 film hanging up I think I need to break into medium format... the negatives are absolutely gorgeous.
